SUSPENSION

5.2 ON VEHICLE REPAIRS

Following precautions should be taken while handling

or working on suspension system:

1. Torque values for all suspension fasteners must

be used as specified during reassembly to assure

proper retention of the parts.

2. DONOT use replacement part of inferior quality or

substitute design. Parts must be replaced with one

of the same part number or with an equivalent part

which should be genuine.

3. Never attempt to heat, quench or straighten any

suspension part. Replace it with a new one

otherwise damage to the respective component

may result.

4. When compressing coil spring, be extremely

careful to position the spring compressor properly.

If the springs were to pop out of the compressor,

serious injuries could result.

5. DO NOT remove the hexagonal nut on the end of

the shock rod before fixing spring compressor or

otherwise the unit can fly apart.

6. DONOT work on or under a vehicle supported only

by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety

stands.
