8.15 POWER WINDOW SYSTEM
(only for driver & co-driver window)
FUNCTION:
An open switch that’s used to prevent voltage from
being applied to the power window electric motor until
the switch button is depressed. This action trips the
switch, closes the contacts and power is applied to
raise or lower the windows glass.
The switch will function when ignition key is turned to
‘ON’ position. For taking window glass ‘UP’, press
and hold the switch towards position marked, and for
down, press towards position marked.
NOTE:
1. Do not press switch further when window glass is
at its extreme position.
2. Do not operate window glass frequently, otherwise
Window winding motor may get over heated and
stop working till it cools down.
LOCATION:
The windowwinding switches are provided on the floor
centre console. Driver & Passenger co-driver can
individual Operate the switches.
REMOVAL:
1. Remove the floor console. (Refer body group)
2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
3. Remove the power window switch from back of
console by pressing the lock clip of switch.
NOTE : Do not remove the switch from front of con-
sole it will damage the lock clip

NSPECTION :
For non-functioning of theWindowwindingmechanism
check following:
1. Check fuses. If blown then replace them.
2. Check all related electrical connections at
connectors.
3. If found OK, then check operating switch for proper
functioning. Replace them if required.
