BRAKE SYSTEM

PARKING BRAKE CABLE

Removal:

1. Release parking brake.

2. Unscrew parking brake adjustment nut (a) and

disengage the parking brake cable from parking

brake equalizer (b).

3. Remove clip securing parking brake cable to the

brake back plate and disconnect parking brake

cable from brake back plate.

PARKING BRAKE LEVER

NOTE:

Refer above figure for the sequence of removal

process.

1. Remove the parking brake adjustment nut and

remove the equalizer and the central locator from

the parking brake lever.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection of parking

brake switch attached to parking brake lever.

3. Unscrew the parking brake lever mounting bolts

and take out the lever.

Installation

1. Align parking brake lever on mounting bracket and

tighten three mounting bolts to specified torque.

TIGHTENINGTORQUE FORPARKINGBRAKE LEVER

MOUNTING BOLTS = 0.8 - 1 Kg-m.

2. Insert the parking brake cable through equalizer

and tighten parking brake adjustment nut as per

requirement. (Refer parking brake cable adjustment

procedure)

3. Connect park brake switch electrical connector.

4. Check rear brakes for dragging and proper

functioning of parking brake.

NOTE:

Check parking brake cable end rotates freely on

equalizer.
