Follow the same procedure for other end also.

INSPECTION

The inner ball joint assembly must be replaced if

either of following conditions is detected:

•

Any binding in articulation of ball rod

(Tie rod)

•

Any axial play between the ball and cup of the

inner joint assembly, more than 0.1mm, when

checked by slightly pulling/ pushing by hand.

ASSEMBLY

NOTE

Before starting to assemble the IBJ keep the steer-

ing gear at centre position.

1. Hold the rack assembly using suitable tool.

2. Take the IBJ assembly and screw one or two

threads by hand.

3. Tighten the IBJ assembly to the specified torque.

NOTE

For torque value refer tightening torque table.

Follow the same procedure for other end.

7.3.3.4 FEED PIPE

A. LONG FEED PIPE

DISMANTLING

1. Unscrew the flare nut of long feed pipe at hous-

ing and rack end and remove long feed pipe.

INSPECTION

Check for any damage or bend on the long feed

pipe.

ASSEMBLY

Properly orient the long feed pipe, enter the nuts at

both ends in the respective ports of rack tube and

housing and tighten the nuts evenly to the specified

torque.

NOTE

For torque value refer tightening torque table.
