5.2.3 OVERHAULING
5.2.3.1 PRECAUTIONS
1. Since all suspension fasteners are critical in
suspension attachments with regard to
performance and safety of vehicle, these must be
replaced with same part number in case of
replacement.
2. Torque values must be maintained as specified
during reassembly for proper retention of the
parts. The replacement parts should be of the
same quality as of the designed parts.
3. Damaged parts should be replaced only with new
parts. Welding, straightening or any other form of
repairing should not be attempted.
4. Care should be taken while handling spring
loaded suspension components.
5. The rubber bushes are not interchangeable;
hence care should be taken to avoid incorrect
assembly.
5.2.3.2 DISMANTLING, INSPECTION AND
ASSEMBLY
A. UPPER LINK BUSH
REMOVAL
1. Remove the Upper link bush using special tool
assembly (
Part No.2870 5890 01 19.)
as shown
in below arrangement.
2. First place the Support
(1) of special tool
assembly (Part No.2870 5890 01 19.)
below the
Upper link.
3. Place the Drift
(2)
on the Upper link bush housing
& then press the drift with the help of press
machine to take out the bush.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the Upper link bush using special tool
assembly
(Part No. 2870 5890 01 21)
as shown
in below arrangement.
2. Place the guide bush
(1)
and mount the support
(2)
on the guide bush.
