Circuit short to battery or

open

ECU detects mass or volume air flow

circuit high if the following condition

arises

Airflow volume in the inlet manifold is

above the upper threshold because of

the air mass flow sensor signal pin is

open circuit/Short circuit to battery.~~

1.

EMS ECU disables the AMF

sensor learning.

2.

EMS ECU disables EGR control

and close EGR valve.

3.

EMS ECU applies reduce torque 1

mode:(60% of torque).

4.

EMS ECU disables the aMF

plausibility test.

5.

EMS ECU disables cruise control

function

1.

Check 60A fuse connected to battery power supply is not blown

off and also check 10A fuse of ignittion power supply is not

blown off. Replace the fuse if found defective.

2.

Check the sensor connector for proper fitment; damage etc.,

ensure proper fitment of the connector with the sensor.

3.

Check sensor for oxidation rust, etc., if noticed clean the

deposits.

4.

Check for electrical continuity between ECU pins A58,A71 and

A04 to sensor connector pins 1,3 & 2. check continuity

between Ignition switch input to sensor connector pin 4 and

rectify electrical discontinuity if noticed.Check ECU pins and

connector pins for damage/rust. In case of rust then clean

them and refit the connector.

5.

Check whether the AMF sensor signal pin A58 is Short circuited

to Battery. If so, then rectify the wiring harness connections.

6.

Replace AMF sensor in case of any physical damage to sensor

or if the problem still persists.

7.

Replace the EMS ECU if the problem still perists.

8.

After rectification ensure the following before handing over to

customer.

a) Check the Air mass flow sensor reading at ignition key on

shows xx mg/st.

b) Air mass flow reads < xx mg/st when the engine is at idle.

c) Air mass flow reads > xx mg/st when the engine is at fly-

up.~
