STEERING 37 B. Short Feed Pipe: Dismantling: 1. Unscrew the flare nut of short feed pipe at housing and rack end and remove short feed pipe. INSPECTION:  Check for any damage or bend on the short feed pipe. ASSEMBLY:  Properly orient the short feed pipe, enter the nuts at both ends in the respective ports of rack tube and housing and tighten the nuts evenly to the specified torque. NOTE:  For torque value refer tightening torque table. v. DO’S & DON’TS : DON’TS: 1. Never lift steering gear by holding bellows. 2. Never lift steering gear by holding Feed pipes. 3. Never store steering gear resting on its bellows. 4. Never store steering gear resting on its feed pipes.
