ANTI LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) 19 ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) B. FRONT WHEEL SPEED SENSOR REMOVAL 1. Position the vehicle on two post lift. 2. Disconnect electrical connector (1) of wheel speed sensor located on the bracket at the rear of the front suspension tower. ! CAUTION Take proper precautions while disconnecting the wheel speed sensor from vehicle wiring harness, otherwise it might damage the pins of the connecter. 3. Remove sensor mounting screw (1) and remove the wheel speed sensor (2) from the steering knuckle. FOR 4X2 VEHICLES FOR 4X4 VEHICLES INSTALLATION 1. Clean speed sensor and its mounting surface. 2. Route the cable properly. 3. Connect the wiring harness connector to wheel speed sensor cable. 4. Make sure that the sensor cable connector is fully seated and locked into vehicle wiring harness connector. 5. Insert the sensor into the sensor mounting hole and tighten the bolt to the specified torque (1.0 Kg-m). 6. Check the air gap between the face of the wheel speed sensor and the top surface of the toner wheel using a feeler gauge.
