GEAR BOX 6450 35 12. Place the inner race of taper roller bearing with the help of drift (Part No: 5403 5890 26 04). 13. Hold the assembly in vertical position and measure the axial play of 1 st and 2 nd gear assembly with the help of dial gauge. NOTE: The specified tolerance for axial play is 0.2 mm to 0.5 mm for all gears. 14. Place the outer race of taper roller bearing. 15. Control dimension is to be measured as per shim selection procedure as given below: A. Control dimension of 131.1 +/- 0.05 mm is for highlighted parts as shown below. B. Measure the distance from outer race taper roller bearing to the collar face of main shaft on which 3 rd gear rest. Let the dimension as “A”. C. SHIM THICKNESS ( Z ) = 131.1 + 0.02 (BEARING PRELOAD) – DIMESINON ‘A’ D. Do not press outer race of taper roller bearing on intermediate plate. Outer race of taper roller bearing (on intermediate plate main shaft) should be pressed after pilot bearing shim (“Y”) selection.
