P224016:- Low input AC voltage shutdown
Overview:
ISO Code (If applicable)
P224016
Customer Symptom
NA
Fault Effect (On Vehicle)
OBC will stop charging HV battery
Lamp Status (If Any)
NA
DTC Detection Condition
This DTC gets logged if AC input voltage is less than 82±2 Vac
Normal Operating Condition
AC input voltage should be grater than 85Vac
Probable Trouble Area
1. AC input voltage is low.
2. Voltage sensor error in OBC.
Healing Condition
Disconnect the gun and connect back after VCU sleep
Write up for
the system:-
The on-board charger (OBC) takes AC input and converts it to direct current to charge a HV battery. The LV supply of OBC is
from 12V battery. It requires AC HV supply voltage of 230V, 50Hz to charge the HV battery. Without the LV supply charging
is not possible.
Pre-Check Points:
a) Check whether the AC input Voltage is normal
b) Check the HV AC supply Connection (AC L, Earth, AC N) for damage (connectors, terminals bending &
oxidation of pins)
c) Check the vehicle inlet connector for damage

Description
Check Point
if YES
if NO
1
Connect the Charging Gun & switch ON the AC
supply. check for the fault code.
Fault code
P224016, is
present?
Go to step 2
Repair complete
2
Replace the charging gun.

3
Remove the OBC AC input connector.
Check the continuity of Phase, Neutral and Earth
pins between OBC AC input connector and
Vehicle inlet (socket)
Is there continuity? Replace OBC Replace the wiring
harness from vehicle

s
confirmation:-
After rectification, ensure the following points by referring OBC parameters using TML diagnostic tool before
handing over to customer.
a) Check whether the OBC can respond to the vehicle charging command by observing the Charge ON
On-Board charger
230V AC supply
HV Battery
LV signal connector
