9. DISASSEMBLY PROCEDURE FOR DRIVE
SHAFT
1. Hold the centre of the axle shaft in the vice
and clean the shaft throughly, using cleaning
solvent.
Important:
Do not damage the Booting surface of
outer housing.
2. Remove the small Boot retaining clamp from
the axle shaft with a side cutter or by tapping
the clamp ear junction screw driver with
rounded edge as marked in below figure.
Discard the small retaining clamp.
Important:
The screw driver should not damage
the Boot.
3. Remove the larger retaining clamp from the
inboard joint by using the screw driver/plier.
4. Separate the housing assembly from the Boot
at large diameter as shown in figure Slide the
Boot away from the joint axle shaft.
5. Remove the spider assembly circlip by using
plier and discard the retaining ring.
