14.10 REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF
PARKING BRAKE CABLE (Applicable to
High Version)
REMOVAL
1. Remove the brake drum - refer Removal brake
drum.
2. Remove the parking brake clip from the rear
brake assembly.
3. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the
shoe lever - refer Brake shoe removal.
4. Remove the cable from the rear brake drum
assembly.
5. From the cabin, remove the Console Rear
cover.
6. Loosen the parking brake slackness
adjustment nut located inside the console that
can be accessed through the Console Rear
cover opening.
7. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the
equalizer.
8. Remove the cable holdings from the shell after
unscrewing the bolts from beneath.
9. Now disconnect all the parking brake cable
clamps from the body mountings.
INSTALLATION OF PARKING BRAKE CABLE
1. Fit the cable to the brake shoe lever.
2. Fit the parking brake cable clip to the brake
back plate securely.
3. Assemble the brake drum - refer brake drum
Assembly procedure.
4. Connect the parking brake cable to the clamps
on body.
5. Tighten the mounting bolts of the parking
brake lever to the torque specified.
