9. REVERSE PARK ASSIST SYSTEM

A. Park Assist:

Park Assist feature will assists you to park vehicle

safely in reverse to avoid objects, which can hit or

damage the rear bumper by alerting with audible

and visual information from car infotainment

system. Audible and visual information is with

respect to the proximity of the object from the rear

bumper.

Park Assist is useful while you are parking the

vehicle in congested and close parking area.

B. Park Assist functionality overview:

There are 2 ultrasonic sensors placed on the rear

bumper of the vehicle. Once Park Assist system

gets activated, sensors will start detecting the

proximity of an obstacle approximately "25cm to

120cm"from the rear bumper and gives the

proximity information to Infotainment music system

in the form of audio and visual information. In case

of low variants without Head unit, there will be only

audio warning through buzzer.

not guaranteed due to ultrasonic sensor

technology limitation.

NOTE:

The distance values mentioned in above table are

approximate values.

C. Park assist indications

In case reverse park assist system malfunctions,

fault message may appear on the infotainment

screen.

Reason for this fault may be

a. Park Assist Controller / Body Control Module

Failure"

b. Sensor Malfunction

c. Partner components such as Infotainment music

system, Instrument Cluster failure.

D. Park Assist Activation / Deactivation

Procedure:

Activation

Reverse gear

This system will start, if reverse gear is engaged,

or park assist button (if available) is pressed.

Deactivation

System will stop, if reverse gear is disengaged, or

park assist button (if available) is pressed.

If started through infotainment, the system can be

stopped using a cross button on infotainment

screen.

E. Park Assist Delay Timer:

If Park Assist system is deactivated by “Reverse

Gear”, it will take certain configurable time period

to go to previous infotainment screen. This is to

ensure that, Pak Assist should not switch off

immediately for repeated engagements or

disengagements of reverse gear.

You can configure this delay time period by the

following sequence of operations,

“Set Up -> Vehicle Setup -> Park Assist ->Park

Assist Delay Timer”
