Customer Symptom

SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

Front Crash detection performance is degraded &

Front Driver angular crash detection is not guaranteed.

Lamp Status (If Any)

SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster.

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged if a wrong sensor with different part

number is connected in place of Frontal Impact Driver sensor.

Normal Operating Condition

Sensor with correct TML Part number as per VC should be

connected in place of Frontal Impact Driver sensor.

Healing Condition

Sensor with correct TML Part number as per VC should be

connected in place of Frontal Impact Driver sensor.

Component Details:-

Frontal Impact Sensor:-

It is usually located in the radiator support vertical member. Front impact sensors collect the

data necessary to make decisions about Airbag deployment.

Airbag ECU

:- It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) controls the

deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the Driver and

passengers.

Preliminary Checks:-

1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above)

2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster.

3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound.

4.

Check whether the Frontal Impact Driver sensor is connected properly to the wiring harness. Ensure

the proper locking of the Frontal Impact Driver sensor to the wiring harness connector.
