B1018 – 12:- Control Signal to Ignition Relay Output – Short to Battery

Overview:-

B1018 – 12

Customer Symptom

1. Green color Ignition LED will remain ON in OFF, ACC

& IGN power mode.

2. Vehicle will always Ignition or crank ON condition.

3. Vehicle cranking is possible.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Green color Ignition LED will remain ON in OFF, ACC

& IGN power mode.

2. Vehicle will always Ignition or crank ON condition.

3. Vehicle cranking is possible.

Lamp Status (If Any)

N.A.

Fault Detection Condition

1. Permanent short circuit to battery of control signal to

Ignition relay output.

2. Wire cut & shorting to battery of Connector-2 / Pin-20

signal.

3. Bending of pin-20 of connector-2 and shorting to

adjacent pin.

Normal Operating Condition

1. Vehicle battery voltage shall be normal.

2. No fault on control signal to Ignition relay output

should be present.

3. Ignition color LED is SSB should be working.

Probable Trouble Area

1. Permanent short circuit to battery of control signal to

Ignition relay output.

2. Wire cut & shorting to battery of Connector-2 / Pin-20

signal with vehicle body.

3. Bending of pin-20 of connector-2 and shorting to

battery pin.

4. Green color LED is SSB is faulty.

Healing Condition

1. After fixing short to battery fault on control signal to

Ignition relay output, In OFF power mode NO LED

should turn ON, In Accessory power mode amber

color LED should turn ON & in Ignition power mode

green color LED should turn ON.

1. Check vehicle battery voltage, it should be normal.

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending or damage.
