Customer Symptom
1. Left Rear Fog Lamps always ON.
2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp
always ON
Fault Effects (On Vehicle)
1. Rear Fog Lamps always ON.
2. Facia Switch illumination for rear fog lamp
always ON
Lamp Status (If Any)
Always ON
Fault Detection Condition
This fault gets logged by BCM when left rear fog lamp
output is shorted to battery or open circuit
Normal Operating Condition
If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position lamps are ON
and front fog lamps are ON then rear fog lamps shall
turn ON immediately after pressing the rear fog lamp
switch.
Probable Trouble Area
1. BCM connector Fault
2. Left rear fog lamp output wire Short to battery or
open circuit from left wiring harness
3. Left Rear Fog Lamp bulb blown /lamp damaged
4. Left rear fog lamp mating connector fault
5. BCM ECU fault
Healing Condition
1. Ignition OFF
ON
2. Clear DTC Command
Component Details:
Left rear fog lamps are located at left rear side of vehicle. If the IGN is ON and headlamps / position
lamps are ON and front fog lamps are ON and user presses the rear fog lamp switch then rear fog
lamps will turn ON.
Preliminary Checks:
1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)
2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
