B1620 - 11: Other Doors Switch - Circuit Short to Ground

Overview:

B1620 - 11

Customer Symptom

1. The IC shows Other Doors as open status, even if all

the other doors are closed as presumed by the

customer.

2. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will ON for

10 minutes.

3. The Mis-lock sound occurs on RKE lock command.

NOTE:

Here, Other Doors means Passenger door, Rear Left Door

and Rear Right Door

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Unnecessary battery power consumption (because

Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will always

ON for 10 minutes.)

2. The vehicle will not enter into arm state, when RKE

lock is given and no alarm functionality will work.

Lamp Status (If Any)

1. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will ON for

10 minutes.

2. Other doors telltale status on IC shows always ON.

Fault Detection Condition

This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine

execution. User has to operate the switch manually during

routine. If short to ground fault is detected for Other Doors

Ajar Switch, then this DTC code will be returned with the

Routine results.

Normal Operating Condition

There should not be any fault returned by routine

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Left side and Right side wiring harness short to

ground

3. Other Doors Ajar Switch is damaged or stuck or faulty

4. BCM ECU fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF



2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Other Doors Switch, BCM connector

Functionality:

If the Other Doors Switch is Short to Ground, then the Other Doors state is in opened/ ajar state.

If the Other Doors is/ are opened, then BCM shall receive the feedback of Other Doors as open/ ajar status.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
