B1308 - 11: Passenger Door Ajar Switch - Circuit Short to Ground

Overview:

B1308 - 11

Customer Symptom

1. The IC shows Passenger Door as open status, even if

the Passenger door is closed as presumed by the

customer.

2. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will ON for

10 minutes.

3. The Mis-lock sound occurs on RKE lock command.

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Unnecessary battery power consumption (because

Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will always

ON for 10 minutes.)

2. The vehicle will not enter into arm state, when RKE

lock is given and no alarm functionality will work.

Lamp Status (If Any)

1. Interior Roof lamp in Auto mode selection will ON for

10 minutes.

2. Passenger door telltale status on IC shows always

ON.

Fault Detection Condition

This fault will be logged after the input switch test routine

execution. User has to operate the switch manually during

routine. If short to ground fault is detected for Passenger Door

Ajar Switch, then this DTC code will be returned with the

Routine results.

Normal Operating Condition

There should not be any fault returned by routine

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Left side wiring harness short to ground

3. Passenger Door Ajar Switch is damaged or stuck or

faulty

4. BCM ECU fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF



2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Passenger Door Switch, BCM connector

Functionality:

If the vehicle is unlocked and Passenger door is opened, then the Passenger door shall get opened.

If the Passenger door state is Short to Ground, then the Passenger door state is in opened/ ajar state.

If the Passenger door is opened, then BCM shall receive the feedback of Passenger door as open/ ajar status.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (9V-16V)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.
