B222D -11: Low Beam Switch - circuit short to ground

START

Connect Diagnostic tool and Run Input Test Routine and operate the

switches as mentioned in the input switch test routine specification.

Is DTC B222D-11

logged by Routine?

Disconnect vehicle battery connection.

(Please follow the safety guidelines)

Check BCM and combi switch connectors

for terminal backout

Are connectors

loose?

Correct connector fault

(Terminals Bend)

1.Remove BCM Connector.

2.Perform visual check of connectors for pins bent or damaged etc.

Is connector faulty?

STOP

1. Put combi switch in OFF state.

2. Check continuity between BCM connector pin

[C4-6

] Harness side) with Ground

[C1-34/C1-47]

Continuity Found?

1. Remove Combi switch mating connector

2. Perform visual check of connectors for pin bend or damaged etc.

Reconnect connectors firmly

Check if Combi switch Low beam input[wiring harness

side] is shorted to ground

Correct combi switch side wiring harness

(Short to Ground)

Check if combi switch is faulty / two terminals of low beam are

shorted to each other or shorted to ground pin terminal

Switch Faulty?

Replace combi switch

1.Remove all BCM connectors

2.Take out low beam wire

[c4-6]

from connector

3.Reconnect all connectors including battey

4.Check if low beam is ON?

Low Beams ON?

Reconnect all connectors firmly

Correct BCM side wiring harness

( Short to Ground)

Continuity Found?

YES

NO
