Turn Indicator Switch – signal compare failure

Customer Symptom

1. Turn left indication always on OR

2. Turn right indication always on

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

1. Turn left indication always on OR Turn Right

indication always on

2. Battery Drain

Lamp Status (If Any)

Always ON

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets logged by BCM when Turn left or turn right

indicator output is short to ground

Normal Operating Condition

If the IGN is ON and turn left or turn right switch is activated

respective turn flashers shall come on

Probable Trouble Area

1. BCM connector Fault

2. Turn indicator switch short to ground from cockpit

wiring harness

3. Turn left or turn right indicator switch damaged or

stuck

4. Combi switch connector fault.

5. BCM ECU fault

Healing Condition

1. Ignition OFF ON

2. Clear DTC Command

Component Details:

Turn left and turn right indicator switch is part of combi switch. If the IGN is ON and turn left indication is given by

user then turn left indicator lamps will flash with predefined frequency. If turn right indication is given by user then

turn right indicator lamps will flash with predefined frequency.

Preliminary Checks:

1. Check Battery Voltage (12.5 V & above)

2. Check ECU pins for oxidation, bending & damage.

Trouble Shooting:-
