3. ECU Replacement Strategy Description
Following are the steps to replace the failure IPC ECU.
Step 1: Connect Diagnostics Tool to Cluster and transition IPC ‘A’ to default session.
Step 2: Read and store DID 465F contents in the Diagnostics tool – Inhale using 22
Service.
Step 3: Transition target IPC ‘B’ to default session and then to extended session.
Step 4: Send Tester Present to keep ECU in Extended Session.
Step 5: Request Security Access.
Step 6: Write DID 465F – Exhale using 2E Service.
Step 7: Write DID 466B with the value of “0F”
Note:
The value of 0F should be
locked
in the tool, tool should not allow other values to
write.
Step 8: Run Auto learn routine 3F06 using appropriate security access in IPC ‘B’.
Step 9: Cluster Replacement Completed. Verification can be done by reading the DID
4666 using 22 service for correct Odometer value updation in new cluster ECU IPC ‘B’.
