WIRING HARNESS REPAIR MANUAL 8 GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT MANUAL WHO CAN USE THIS MANUAL? • Only those who have undergone theWiring Harness Repair Training conducted by Passenger Vehicle Business Unit of Tata Motors Ltd. qualifies for the use of this manual. • Please note that All information given in this manual is based on the latest product information at the time of publication. However, specifications and procedures are subject to change without notice. HOW TO USE THIS MANUAL? • Please understand the guidelines and precautions properly and follow it before starting the work. • In the initial pages, details of the Wiring Harness Repair Kit and Consumable Kits are provided. Please understand it thoroughly it will be helpful throughout the wiring harness repairing process. • Please pay proper attention to the “Information” symbol which provides key information for the related process. • In few connectors, we have added “Tips” symbol to provide you tricky solutions or added advantage over the repairing process; request you to pay attention to this. • It would be appreciated if you go through the complete manual before starting the repairing process so that you can have a detailed and broad idea over the repairing process, which will refresh your learning during the wiring harness repair training to accomplish the task confidently and without error. • Connectors of UVs and Cars have been mentioned separately and so their repair procedures have also been mentioned separately i.e. one connector at a time. • The first table of every connector refers to the usage of the tools (Primary and Secondary Lock removal tools) and connector details (no of poles in that particular connector and applicability in the vehicle models with engine capacity). • The first table of a particular connector also illustrates the actual picture of the connector along with the CAD image to understand and identify the connector properly. • The second table of each connector gives details about the terminal and their locking mechanism, applicable pre-terminated lead part no. and its wire details (like wire size and color of wire in pre-terminated leads).
