3.TEMPERATURE AND MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE

PRESSURE SENSOR

(TMAP) (BOOST SEN-

SOR)

The TMAP sensor is fitted in the outlet of intercooler

and gives the temperature and pressure of the air

entering the intake manifold to the EMS ECU

The temperature sensor element is a NTC-resistor.

Fuel quantity and injection timing are optimized

based on these inputs.

LOCATION

This sensor is fitted on intercooler outlet near the

pipe connecting intercooler to engine intake.

REMOVAL

1. Lift the vehicle on two-post lift.

2. Disconnect the electrical connection from sen-

sor.

3. Remove one mounting Bolt of sensor and take

out the sensor from its location.

INSPECTION

With Ignition 'ON', check Voltage between Pin 4 and

Pin1 using multimeter.
