REAR AXLE
INTRODUCTION
This rear axle has unique features of unitized
bearings and Track - Loc.
The unitised bearings are pre - set and require
no adjustments. The lubrication is through
differential lube and draining of axle lube is
not required to service the bearing or seal of
the hub.
The Track - Loc limited slip differential is
similar to conventional differential, except that
part of the torque from the ring gear is
transmitted through clutch packs between the
side gears and differential case. In case of
wheel slippage the clutch pack opposite to the
slipping side, is activated by separating forces
between the pinion mate and the
corresponding side gear. This increases the
torque delivered to the non slipping wheel and
the vehicle begins to move. It is important to
recognize that if, with unequal traction, both
wheel slip, the Track - Loc has done all it can
possibly do.
