Customer Symptom

No gearshifts ,

Vehicle not picking up

Fault Effects (On Vehicle)

No gearshifts ,

Vehicle not picking up

Lamp Status (If Any)

Transmission Fault Lamp ON ON (may not be possible to

observe)

Fault Detection Condition

This fault gets detected during initialization of TCU

Normal Operating Condition

CAN bit integrity is valid during initialization of TCU

Probable Trouble Area

TCU damage

Healing Condition

Immediately after detection of valid bit integrity.

Component Details:

The Problem may occur due to an internal damage to TCU.

Preliminary Checks:

Battery voltage

2. Check for damage or back out of pins at TCU connectors.

3. Check correct fitment of ground cable connections on vehicle chassis (tightness, corrosion of mounting bolts etc.)

Trouble Shooting:-

Step Checks

IF YES

IF NO

Check Battery and Ignition supplies at pins

1,3and 5 respectively. Both are correct?

Go to Step 2

circuit schematic

Is there any pin back

out/damage/rust/oxidation observed on

TCU Connector?

Clean or repair or replace

connector

Go to Step 3

Fault Still Persists?

Replace TCU

Follow the steps again for

reconfirmation

the following points by referring TCU parameters using TML diagnostic tool

before handing over to customer.

Drive the vehicle through all gears in both Automatic and Manual modes

Ensure no DTC is active and Transmission Fault Lamp is OFF.
