C. Battery Saver:
Battery Saver functionality is only active in
Vehicle Power State OFF.
Door Courtesy Lamps Battery Saver
If any door is open and Ignition is OFF, the
interior courtesy lamps should not switch off.
The
lights should be switched off after 10 minutes or
when the voltage is 10.5volts. Which ever event
comes earlier.
If any door status change is reset the 10
minutes timer. Again interior lights are activated
when vehicle battery voltage more than 11.0 Volts.
Interior Lights Battery Saver
The interior lights battery saver function
will prevent battery drain if any interior light is
inadvertently left on. This will ensure that a vehicle
start is always possible as a flat battery is a major
inconvenience to the user.
The interior lights battery saver function
controls the power supply relay for all the interior
light battery feeds. The relay needs to be
energized by the BCM using the Interior Lights
Battery Saver output whenever any interior lights
should be active.
The following circuits are powered through
the interior lights battery saver relay and can be
disabled to prevent battery drain:
Interior courtesy lights
(All three rows)
Sun visor lamp
Spot lights
Glove box light
Load/Cargo area light
Puddle/Door ajar lights
The interior lights battery saver output is
only deactivated when the Vehicle Power State is
OFF and the Key is not in the ignition.
(Indicated
by the key switch status)
The relay can only be
deactivated after a time period. This time period
varies dependent on the last vehicle operation.
Vehicle Central Lock and Alarm set using
Remote Key.
After a successful lock and alarm set using
the remote key the Interior Lights Battery Saver
timer is activated for 5 minutes. After this time the
interior lights Battery Saver relay is deactivated.
In this state the vehicle should not contain
passengers, otherwise the alarm will activate if the
door is opened. If the lock and alarm operation
fails for any reason
(i.e. the vehicle is not locked)
the battery saver timer is started for that state of
vehicle.
Vehicle Central Lock using Mechanical key in
driver or passenger door or door pin.
After a successful central lock using the
mechanical key or door pin the Interior Lights
Battery Saver timer is activated for 60 minutes.
After this time the interior lights battery Saver relay
is deactivated.
In this state the vehicle may contain
passengers, so the interior lights should be active
for 60 minutes to allow the map reading lights or
interior lights to be used. If the lock operation fails
for any reason
(i.e. the vehicle is not locked)
the
battery saver timer is not started.
Vehicle unlocked and key not in ignition.
After the key is removed from the ignition
and the vehicle is not locked the Interior Lights
Battery Saver timer is activated for 120 minutes.
After this time the interior lights battery Saver relay
is deactivated.
In this state the vehicle may contain
passengers, so the interior lights should be active
for 120 minutes to allow the map reading lights or
interior lights to be used. If the key is returned to
the ignition barrel the battery saver timer is
cancelled.
Battery Saver Cancellation
In all states the battery saver timer will be
reinitiated according to state of the vehicle. The
Interior Lights battery saver relay will be activated
for any change in door status, a change in vehicle
power state or actuator operation or any remote
key operation or the Hazard switch operation.
NOTE:
Battery saver function (Relay) will be deactivated
when Vehicle battery voltage is less than 10.5
Volts for 10 seconds and again activated if vehicle
battery voltage more or equal than 11.0 volts.
Battery Voltage Management
To prevent battery drain, when the key is
out of the ignition the BCM will monitor the battery
voltage. When the voltage is 10.5 volt and below,
the following functions will be disabled. These
