ELECTRICAL

1. FRONT WIPE:

There are five wiping modes of Front wiper:

OFF

FLICK WIPE (

not controlled by BCM

)

INTERMITTENT (

controlled by BCM

)

LOW SPEED (

not controlled by BCM

)

HIGH SPEED (

not controlled by BCM

)

The wiper park position input switch is

used to detect when the wiper blade is at the

bottom of the wind screen.

OFF

In this state the front wipers should be in

the park position. (

Indicated by the wiper park

switch being active

) When the wiper mode is

changed from FLICK WIPE, INTERMITTENT,

LOW SPEED, or HIGH SPEED to OFF the wiper

continues the current wipe operation until the park

switch indicates the wiper is in the park position.

FLICK WIPE

When FLICK WIPE is selected, the wipers

move once across the windshield at low speed

and return to the park position. If FLICK WIPE is

permanently selected (

switch held on

), then the

wipers will move continuously across the

windshield at low speed. This mode is not

controlled by the BCM but will be detected as

LOW SPEED by the state change of the front

wiper parking switch input.

INTERMITTENT WIPE:

On vehicles with variable resistor Combi

switch installed the interval between consecutive

intermittent wipes shall be dependent on the

position of the interval wiper delay setting. There

are 5 settings for the variable resistor, of which

setting P1 shall be the shortest interval, and

setting P5 shall be the longest interval. If no delay

input is detected

(during open circuit error

condition)

or the variable resistor is not fitted, a

default setting of P2 will be used.

When the wipers are in INTERMITTENT

mode, if a shorter delay period is selected (

i.e

.

wiping to occur more often

), an “immediate wipe”

will be performed with wiping continuing at the

new, shorter interval selected. When a longer

interval is selected, the delay time for the new

interval is used to determine when the next wipe

is initiated. The delay time is measured from the

end of the last wipe, not from the time that the

interval was changed.

Delay Table:

LOW SPEED

When LOW SPEED is selected then the

wipers will move continuously across the

windshield at low speed. This mode is not

controlled by the BCM but will be detected by the

state change of the front wiper parking switch

input.
