7. The Air gap should be
0.475mm
to 1.175 for 4x4
vehicles.
NOTE
Air gap cannot be measured in 4x2 vehicles (Front
WSS).
8. Clear all fault codes and road test the vehicle to
ensure proper operation of the brake system.
C. FRONT TONER RING
INSPECTION
1. Position the vehicle in a 2 poster lift and raise it.
2. In case of 4x4 vehicles steer the wheel to
extreme steering locks position so that the toner
ring can be easily seen.
3. In 4x2 vehicles, remove the front axle hub
assembly
(For procedure refer Front Axle 4x2
section)
4. Closely inspect the toner ring and remove the
dust, mud or iron particles in between the teeth.
5.
Check for any damaged teeth.
(Front toner ring
has got 54
teeth).
6. Replace toner ring if any teeth are missing or
damaged.
Refer front axle section (either 4x4 or
4x2) and use recommended tool to remove the
toner ring
.
D. REAR WHEEL SPEED SENSOR
1.
Position the vehicle on two post lift.
2.
Disconnect electrical connector
(1)
of wheel
speed sensor located on the outer side of the
chassis long member.
! CAUTION
Take proper precautions while disconnecting the
wheel speed sensor from vehicle wiring harness,
otherwise it might damage the pins of the connecter
4. Remove sensor mounting screw
(1)
and remove
the wheel speed sensor
(2)
from the rear axle.
NOTE
Before replacing wheel speed sensor carry out
diagnosis of wheel speed sensor. (Refer
Troubleshooting and Diagnosis)
INSTALLATION
1. Clean the speed sensor and its mounting surface.
