7. Engine Lubrication System

for visual signs of leakage. Replace
seals or gaskets as necessary.
Engine does not develop oil
pressure
Low oil level or Incorrect
grade of oil
Add proper grade of oil until level is
at the 'MAX' mark on dipstick
Faulty oil pressure sending
unit
Replace faulty sending unit as
needed.
Defective engine oil pump/oil
pump relief valve stuck open
Inspect oil pump operation. Repair
or replace as necessary.
Excessive wear of connecting
rods, main bearings and
journals, or other internal
