‘ST’ contact ‘OFF’ - the supply to glow plugs is

cut off but then ‘IG’ contact will be ‘ON’. In case

second cranking is attempted without ‘IG’ going

‘OFF’, the glow plugs will again receive supply

as long as starter contact is ‘ON’.

To repeat steps a, b and c, ‘IG’ should be

disconnected.

Glow plug timer can be checked by simple

method as shown in Fig. 53

Light-1 : Indicator light

Light-2 : Test light - Glow plug

SW1 : Ignition switch

OFF : Both lights will be off

ON : Both lights will be on

Light 1 will go off after 7 sec.

SW2 : Starting switch

ON : Light 2 will be on

OFF : Light 2 will be off
