FRONT AXLE - 4

Place the proper thickness depth shim on the pinion

gear and install the rear pinion bearing cone. Drive

until it seals against the throat face of pinion using

Dolley for pressing inner bearing cone on pinion Pt.

no. 2704 5890 3316.

Assemble bearing cone, slinger and new pinion seal

into housing. Using : Installer, pinion oil seal Pt. no.

2698 5890 3513 and universal Pt. no. 2698 5890

3506.

Apply a light coat of oil to the lip of oil seal.

Install new collapsible spacer onto pinion stem and

assemble into housing. Assemble end yoke, washer

into housing.

Note :

Collapsible, spacer should rest on bearing

inner race, and it can fitted any in one

direction.

Continue to tighten in small increments until the rotating

torque is achieved. Using Holder, yoke Pt. no.

2698 5890 3505 and torque wrench.
