ASSEMBLY OF THE CYLINDER HEAD :

Ensure that the hollow dowels are placed in their

respective position i. e. one in the cylinder head

and other in cam shaft caps.

Install spring seat

If required press valve guide seal with the help of

dolly.

Install valves in their respective position.

Place valve springs and retainer over it.

Press the valve spring with the help of spring

compressor (Pt No. 2699 5890 0603) and install

half lock with help of grease & wire. Fig. 127

Ensure that the two grooves are properly located.

Smear tappet outside diameter with engine oil and

place it over valve. Fig. 128

Smear cam shafts journals and cam lobes with

moly paste grease.

The exhaust cam shaft is with bigger boss at front

on which the timing gear is to be bolted. Fig. 129

Ensure that inlet cam shaft has a pin at rear end.

Press thin pin in both the cam shafts and then press

sprocket over it aligning its slot with pin.

Place chain over both the sprockets & place

tensioner.

Place both the cam shafts simultaneously with chain

and chain tensioner on cylinder head bearings.

Align the slots on rear sides of both the cam shafts

horizontally so that it would be easier to check the

timing afterwards by inserting timing plate in the

slot.
