20a. PROCEDURE FOR REMOVAL / ASSEMBLY OF

DASHBOARD

REMOVAL

1.

Steering wheel :

a.

Remove the press fit caps on lower side of

steering wheel.

b.

Take off the 2 screws, lift the steering wheel pad

slightly & disconnect horn switch connectors. (In

cases of DAB version; disconnect air bag

connection as well. DAB should be kept carefully

as it may get activated due to static charges as

well).

c.

Unscrew the center lock nut of steering wheel

and take out the steering wheel.

(In case of DAB disconnect DAB coil connector &

remove the coil by unscrewing 4 screws)

2.

Nacelle :

a.

Unscrew all 5 screws at nacelle lower side,

b.

Take off the lower & half of nacelles.

3.

Combi-switch :

a.

Disconnect all 5 wiring connectors.

b.

Loosen the combi-switch locking screw & take out

the combi-switch.

4.

Instrument cluster :

a.

Bezel of instrument cluster - Take out all 3 screw

of bezel and pull out the bezel.

b.

Remove three screws and take it out so as to

disconnect the wiring harness and speedo-cable.

c.

Disconnect the instrument cluster illumination

control switch connector.

5.

Remove the fuse box cover, 4 screws used for

mounting fuse box on dashboard, fuse box.

6.

Take out the snap fitted windshield de-mist

garnish of LH, Rh and center.

7.

Remove the LH & RH front door primary rubber

moulds.

8.

Remove 'A' pillar upper trim.

9.

Remove front driver and co-driver seats.

9a. Remove gear shift cover asssembly from front

console.

10. Remove front and rear floor console.

11. Remove lower side covers of HVAC from

underside of the dashboard (by unscrewing the

moulded cap screws)

12. Remove HVAC lower triangular cover from LH

underside of dashboard. (3 screws are used for

fixing the cover. Lower 2 screws are accessible

from underside & upper screw is accessible after

opening and swiveling the glove box out).

13. Disconnect the link of mode selector and unlock

it from press fit holder.

14. Disconnect the link of AC temperature control

(Air mixing knob), and unlock it from press fit

holder.

15. Disconnect LH side AC ducts, which can be

accessed from the glove box cutout.

(In case of PAB option - remove 4 screws used to

mount PAB on cross-member and disconnect PAB

wiring from LH side of PAB).

16. Center Console Frame :

a.

Take out press fitted AC vent from center console

frame. And music system if fitted.

Center console frame is fitted with 6 self-tapping

screws.

b.

4 screws can be approached from AC vent fixing

cutout.

c.

2 screws from lower side of center console frame.

d.

Take out center console frame so as to disconnect

inside electrical wiring connections & then

remove the center console frame.

17. Remove dashboard mounting screws

a.

One from LH de-mist garnish location slot & one

from RH de-mist garnish location slot (a & b

respectively).

b.

Three each from LH 'A' pillar (c) and RH 'A' pillar.

(Screws covered with cap)

c.

6 on tunnel (2 on each side and 2 on console vent

area).

18. Now dashboard can be taken out from cab.

Assembly procedure :

1.

The dashboard assembly can be done in reverse

order.
