The direction indicators can be activated
by the following functions (
in priority order
.)
crash activated hazard flash
Lock/unlock feedback including vehicle seek.
hazard flashing
directional indicators
The Direction Indicators will be activated
within 100ms, from any Hard Wired switch turn
signal function. The Direction indicators will be
deactivated within 100ms of any function being
cancelled, unless stated otherwise.
The Instrument Cluster Tell Tales are
connected to the dedicated left and right Tell Tale
outputs for visual feedback. Audible Tic-Toc
feedback is provided by the Instrument Cluster in
all Vehicle Power States. The dedicated tell tale
output signals are required to allow correct
synchronization of the tic-toc noise with indicator
operation.
The following lamps will be illuminated by
Hazard Light and Directional indicator functions
Front, left and right Directional indicator lamps
Side repeater lamp, left and right Directional
indicator lamps (
part of ORVM
)
Rear, left and right Directional indicator lamps
Instrument cluster Tell Tales
The front left and right Directional
indicators use long life bulbs which require voltage
controlled signals.
All indicator bulbs with the exception of the
instrument cluster tell tales and trailer turn signals
will use PWM drive from the BCM outputs. The
BCM must also be capable of supplying standard
pulsed digital output signals to the direction
indicator outputs.
BCM shall flash the RH or LH
directional Indicators at a fast rate of 90 ± 30
cycles with a duty cycle 50% if user selects the
respective turn combination stalk
BCM Microprocessor Failure
If there is a microprocessor failure and
user select left / right indicator from combi switch
then corresponding external indicator and tell tale
will be ON (not blinking) in all power states.
Bulb Failure Detection
The BCM shall monitor the current drawn
from the Directional Indicators outputs and use this
to determine whether a Directional Indicator lamp
has failed.
