ENGINE 273 MPFI

FUELFILTERREPLACEMENT

Inspection:

a) Release the fuel system pressure. (Refer Fuel

System)

b) Position the car on two post lift.

c) Install pressure gauge having a range of 0-10

bar at the delivery port.

d) Connect fuel pump connectors.

e) Run engine at idle condition.

f ) Check fuel pressure on gauge. It should be min.

3.5 bar.

If it is less than 3.5 bar, replace filter and retest.

Removal Procedure

:

1. Repeat steps (a) and (b) as mentioned above.

2. Place fuel container under fuel filter.

3. Disconnect inlet and outlet fuel lines from fuel

filter. Remove fuel filter from clamp. Collect fuel

emerging during the operation in suitable

container.

CAUTION

A small amount of fuel may be released after

fuel hose is disconnected. To avoid the chance

of accident, cover hose and pipe disconnected

with a shop cloth.

Replace the filter element regularly at

recommended service intervals.

Fitment Procedure

:

1. Connect inlet hose, outlet hose to filter. Ensure

that quick fix connectors are fitted properly.

2. The arrow stamped on the outer case of the filter

indicates the fuel flow direction.

3. Assemble filter on clamp. .

4. With engine ‘OFF’ condition and ignition switch

‘ON’ check for fuel leakage.

5. Start engine and check each joint of fuel system

for leakage. Rectify if necessary.
