ENGINE

Precautions to ensure trouble free operation of

catalytic converter

1. Use only unleaded gasoline (95RON).

2. Engine compression checks should be carried out

within the shortest possible time only.

3. If necessary then only conduct a spark jump test

within the shortest possible time..

4. Clean the catalytic converter by blowing

compressed air in reverse direction.

5. Do not park the car on inflammable materials like

dry grass, cotton waste etc. as the exhaust system

is hot enough to initiate fire.

6. Avoid driving with fuel tank getting almost empty.

7. Catalytic converter should not be exposed to any

impulse.

Catalytic converter maintenance procedure

(a) Catalytic Converter should be flushed by giving

full throttle (4 to 5 times) in standing condition of

vehicle.

(b) High speed running of the vehicle may be done

periodically to avoid chocking of catalytic

converter.

(c) Alternatively flushing operation for cleaning the

catalytic converter can be done by dry compressed

air draft (3 to 4 bars) directed on the ceramic body

of catalytic converter (after removing from vehicle)

(d) Avoid pre-coating/painting of Catalytic Converter.
