ELECTRICAL

6

L. Can I reset it to Zero or any other value?

No you cannot.

M. What are the conditions which may lead to a

wrong reading?

Faulty fuel level sensor

Vehicle Speed Sensor faulty

Any fuel leak in the system

Parking in a high gradient

N. How will I know that there is a problem with

my car on DTE?

If you encounter huge variations in the

DTE without a corresponding drop in the

fuel gauge, it may reflect a problem.

Please get it checked by the dealership.

O. What will be the decrease in DTE for every

one km of driving?

It will be one km decrease in DTE reading

for one km of driving if the vehicle is

driven steadily more on high way

conditions. But for one Km of driving

would decrease more than one km in DTE

when driven in city conditions.

P. What are the parameters affecting DTE?

The parameters affecting DTE are-

a. Driving pattern whether in high way or city

Conditions

b. Load on the engine

c. Electrical loads

d. Frequency of applying brakes and

changing gears.

e. Engine idling time

f. Fuel level.

g. Clutch riding.

h. Rash driving.

Q. When will the fuel warning lamp come "ON"?

The fuel warning lamp will come ON

along with first Bar blinking when there is

fuel reserve sufficient for ~ 50km

considering average of min 20km/Ltr

R. How is the DTE calculated?

DTE is based on what is called a running

average fuel economy (RAFE) and fuel

available in tank.

S. Why DTE value remains constant for long

duration?

This happens when actual distance which

vehicle can run with the available fuel and

existing fuel economy is much higher than

displayed DTE.

Or Fuel filled is more than the actual rated

capacity of Tank i.e. up to neck of Tank.

DTE will update after some distance or do

the ignition on and off for correcting the

Display DTE to actual

.

Average Fuel Economy:

A. Why AFE values keep on changing?

AFE value depends on driving patterns

and different trips. This value is published

by EMS ECU and averaged in IC for AFE

calculation based upon distance covered

in current trip.

B. Why AFE value is showing more or less than

normal during initial trip reset?

During initial trip reset the AFE value is

not matured so there are chances that

display AFE value is more or less than the

normal AFE value.
