ENGINE 273 MPFI

•

Rotate the crank shaft to bring the first piston

(i.e. close to timing cover) at TDC position. Lock

the camshaft (at end slot) using camshaft

locking plate (Part No. 2834 5809 06 20)

•

Position the car on a two post lift.

•

Remove all electrical connectors of engine

harness routed on cylinder head cover.

•

Declamp engine harness routed on timing cover.

•

Remove cylinder head cover by unscrewing the six

hexagonal mounting bolts.

Timing Belt Removal Procedure

•

Remove negative terminal of battery.

CAUTION

Ensure that the removed terminal is away from the

battery negative post / body.

•

Lock the flywheel by inserting TDC Lock Pin (Part

No. 2834 5890 06 14)

•

Remove the alternator belt. (Refer Alternator belt

removal procedure)

•

Remove theA/C belt ( if fitted ) and carefully

hang it to the radiator bottom hose.

•

Unscrew hexagonal mounting bolts of front

timing cover.
