1.3 LIFTING, JACKING, TOWING POINTS

Using The Two Post Lift:

When using a 2 post lift to raise the vehicle for

servicing, always follow these points:

• Observe the hoist manufacturer’s rating, safety

precautions, and usage guidelines.

• Make sure the hoist contacts the appropriate

lift points on the vehicle undercarriage.

• Balance the vehicle properly on the lift arms.

• Once the lift raises the vehicle to the desired

position, lockout the hoist arms to prevent

movement.

Following fig. shows the front and the rear jacking

points by two post lift

WARNING

• Do not raise the hoist unless the vehicle is

properly balanced on the lift arms. The vehicle

may fall, causing severe injury, death or damage

the vehicle.

• Do not allow the lift arms to contact the vehicle

fuel or brake lines, engine oil pan, fuel tank, or

other parts susceptible to damage from the

vehicle’s weight during lifting.
