•
Unscrew central hexagonal mounting bolt of
damper pulley.
•
Take out the damper pulley.
•
Remove bottom timing cover by unscrewing the
two hexagonal mounting bolts.
•
Loosen the mounting bolt of tensioner roller (rotate
the belt tensioner using allen key to release the
belt tension if required). Then remove the belt.
•
Remove the timing belt and check for any crack or
damage. If found faulty, replace it.
Inspection Of Timing Belt
If following flaws are evident, replace the Timing belt
•
Back surface glossy, nonelastic and so hard that
even if finger nail is forced into it, no mark is
produced.
•
Cracked back surface rubber
•
Cracked or exfoliated canvas.
•
Side of belt cracked.
•
Cracked tooth bottom.
•
Side of belt excessively worn.
•
Excessively worn teeth.
•
Damaged or broken teeth.
