ENGINE
•
ORCheck timing belt tension at span between cam
shaft and crank shaft gear using clevis belt tension
meter. It should be between 65 - 75 Hz.
•
Unlock the flywheel and camshaft by removing
flywheel lock pin and cam shaft lock plate
respectively.
•
To ensure correctness of engine timing setting,
Rotate the crank shaft through 720 degrees i.e.
two complete rotation and ensure that both the
flywheel lock pin and camshaft lock plate are easily
inserted at their respective position.
•
Fit the front timing cover.
•
Clamp harness on timing cover.
•
Fit bottom timing cover.
•
Fit the alternator belt. (Refer Alternator belt Fitment
procedure)
•
Fit the A/C belt. Set the A/C belt tension using
special tool tensioner(part no. 2834 5890 06 13).
Ensure proper belt tension using clevis tension meter.
The belt tension limits are show below
BELT TENSION LIMITS
Compressor belt
175 Hz to 185 Hz on lower span for new belt.
145 Hz to 155 Hz for retensioning the used belt.
Alternator belt
120 Hz to 130 Hz on lower span for new belt.
100 Hz to 110 Hz for retensioning the used belt.
Timing belt
65 Hz to 75 Hz at span between camshaft and
crankshaft gear.
•
Fit the Cylinder head cover by tightening six
hexagonal mounting bolts at specified torque.
•
Ensure that all electrical connectors are properly
connected.
•
Connect battery terminals.
•
Take engine trial for proper functioning of engine.
