Loosen upper bolt of the compressor i.e. belt-

tension adjusting bolt.

Drain the coolant and remove the radiator bottom

hose.

Remove the belt from damper pulley.

Remove the belt from compressor pulley.

Check the condition of belt. Replace if wear down

or any cut is found.

Refitment of compressor belt

Position the compressor by lower mounting and

upper adjusting bolts. (Do not tighten the bolts).

Position the belt on compressor pulley first and

then to damper pulley.

Apply tension on compressor belt using special

tool tensioner (Part No. 2834 5890 06 13)

Refitment of alternator belt

Position the alternator by inserting lower mounting

and upper adjusting bolts. (Do not tighten the

bolts).

Position the V-belt on alternator pulley first and

then to vibration damper pulley.

Apply tension on alternator belt and tighten

upper sliding bolt.

PRECAUTION

Do not overtighten or under tight the alternator belt.

(Ensure that alternator belt tension at tight side

using clevis belt tension meter / clevis gauge.

It should be between 120 – 130 Hz on lower span

for new belt & 100 – 110 Hz for the used belt.)

Tighten lower mounting bolt of alternator.

Lower the car from two post lift.

Fit rear shelf.

Connect battery terminals.

Start the engine & confirm the proper alignment &

functioning of belt.

PROCEDURE

Removal Procedure

Remove negative terminal of battery .

PRECAUTION

Ensure that the removed terminal is away from

the battery negative post.

Position the car on a two post lift.

Loosen lower mounting bolt of compressor.
