FUEL SYSTEM

6

Technical specifications of Cylinder valve:

Maximum working pressure:

260 bar

Working temperature:

- 40 to 85 deg.cen

Solenoid valve voltage:

12V DC

Nominal power rating of solenoid valve:

10W

Working Principle of Solenoid valve / coil:

The Tank solenoid valve is an integrated on the CNG

tank unit and turns ON/OFF the CNG output from the

tank. The valve is “normally closed” and is controlled

by the ECU to control the high pressure gas output

from the tank.

System Integration:

Tank solenoid Valve has an electrical interface with

the ECU and the ‘Change over Switch’ (COS). The

tank solenoid (shut-off) valve is controlled by the

ECU.

Stand Alone Diagnosis:

Use Multimeter:

Coil resistance @ 20°C= 9.7 ± 0.3kΩ.

Use TATA Diagnostic Tool, perform actuator

test.

Sensor end Pin assignment (on connector):

1: -ve (12V Supply from power relay)

2: +ve (ECU pin)

The Information given above is just for reference

only and the repair or service of the above

component should be done at Authorized CNG

service stations only.

WIRING DETAILS (ECU & SOLENOID COIL)

REMOVAL OF CYLINDER VALVE FROM CNG

CYLINDER: (On-bench process)

Do not remove CNG cylinder valve unless CNG

cylinder is empty.

Hold the cylinder in a suitable fixture.

Remove the cylinder valve from the cylinder

using a torque wrench & tightening tool (Part No:

5402 5890 47 01).

REFITMENT OF CYLINDER VALVE ON CNG

CYLINDER:

Remove the thread protection cap from the

“cylinder valve” (for new assembly).

Remove the thread protection cap from the

“cylinder neck” (for new assembly) and ensure

that the threads are free from burrs and any

irregularities.

Remove the rubber gasket from the valve

thread (for new assembly).

NOTE:

Follow the guidelines for NPT threading for

assembly.
