Signal Cross Coupled

This fault gets logged if the Injector-

Cylinder 3 HSD and LSD pins of EMS

ECU are short circuited across

EMS ECU takes following

recovery actions:

1.

EMS ECU doesn't activate AC

compressor relay eventhough AC

request is activated by customer

and applies default ac torque.

2.

Disables the BRC reading and use

estimation for injector pulse

duration instead of reading for

injector cylinder3.

3.

Disables cruise control function.

4.

Disables RVD (Rail Valve

Discharge) on injector cylinder3.

5.

Disables all DTI iso diagnostics

test.

6.

Disables EGR control and close

EGR valve.

7.

Freezes (Do not activate) IMV

current trim fault.

8.

Increases idle target speed.

9.

Disables DTI iso leak test, DTI iso

IMV test & DTI HPV iso test.

10.

Applies reduce torque 1

mode:(60% of torque).

11.

Disables diagnostic of Rail

Pressure build fault.

12.

Disables SPC(Speed Pilot Control)

strategy, no more SPC trim

update.

13.

Disable Xs ramp torque function

(Torque increase during start up if

start fails).~

1.

Check Injector Connection; Switch ignition off and wait for ten

seconds. Remove injector connector; clean and reconnect

properly.

2.

Check Injector electrical continuity between ECU pins A75 &

A51 and Injector - Cylinder 3 connector pins 2 & 1 as per

circuit schematic; if required correct or replace the harness.

Check whether Cylinder 3 injector's HSD and LSD pins A75 &

A51 are short circuited due to wrong wiring harness

connections. If so then rectify the wiring harnes connections

according to circuit schematics.

3.

Disconnect injector & check if fault dissapear. If dissapear,

injector is faulty, replace injector.

4.

Remove injector, Check continuity and resistance using a multi

meter across injector pins. (Resistance shall be ~ 0.322

ohms). If resistance is not in specifed range then replace

injector.

5.

Check ECU pins for physical damage; replace ECU, if problem

still persists.

6.

After rectification ensure the following before handing over to

customer.

a) Please fit the injector with its connector on wiring harness

and remove ECU connector and check for continity between

injector and the ECU connector.

b) Perform actuator test for the injectors.
