P1579-53: Cruise control reversible disabling (event information) Overview: DTC Description (User Friendly) Cruise control reversible disabling (event information) ECU Pin Number K035, K010 Customer Symptom MIL OFF, CEL OFF. Cruise control will get inactive Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Cruise Control will get inactive Lamp Status (If Any) - Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) This fault gets detected if Brake Switch fault (0/1 plausibility – P057194) is detected when Cruise active. Normal Operating Condition No Fault Probable Trouble Area Wiring harness connections between Brake switch and EMS ECU. Brake switches. EMS ECU faulty. Healing Condition Rectify the error Clear through diagnostic tool Ignition OFF & ON Component / Function Details: EMS ECU controls the Vehicle Speed to the User Set cruise speed provided other pre-conditions be satisfied. User has got the Cruise switch interface on Steering wheel to Enable the function, Set / Resume cruise target speed and cancel cruise. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. 2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. 3. Check for wiring harness dis-continuity between the Brake Switch and EMS ECU. 4. Check whether P0571-94 fault is logged, rectify this fault by following its rectification procedure. 5. Check for damage of pins at ECU connector. Trouble Shooting: Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1 Check whether P0571-94 / P0703-94 fault is also logged? Rectify the fault by following its rectification procedure Go to next step 2 Check whether the Brake pedal switch is dis-connected and Vehicle is operated with cruise active and user tried to de-activate cruise by brake press. Refit the Brake switch connector. Go to next step 3 Check for any wiring harness dis-continuity between the Brake switch connector and EMS ECU. Dis-continuity found ? Rectify the wiring harness connections as per the circuit schematic Go to next step 4 Fault Persists. Call Hotline Repeat the above steps for re-
