P1563-21: Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: Variable Geometry Turbocharger position sensor deviation (signal amplitude < minimum) Overview: DTC Description (User Friendly) Turbocharger Boost Control Position Sensor "A" Circuit Range/Performance: Variable Geometry Turbocharger position sensor deviation (signal amplitude < minimum) ECU Pin Number A039, A077, A076, A003, A025 Customer Symptom MIL ON, CEL OFF Fault Effects (On Vehicle) - Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON. MIL Turns Off as and when fault condition is not present / healed. Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) Negative control deviation is detected if control deviation < threshold for detection of negative governor deviation (evaluated by a map). Normal Operating Condition Proper wire harness connection between EMS ECU and VGT Actuator. Probable Trouble Area Wire harness connection between VGT actuator and EMS ECU. Healing Condition Rectify the error Clear through diagnostic tool. Ignition OFF & ON Component Details: The turbo charger position sensor is used in a pneumatic actuator to precisely detect the actual position of the variable turbo geometry mechanism. This leads to improved performance and reduces the fuel consumption. A turbocharger is a turbine-driven forced induction device that increases an internal combustion engine's efficiency and power output by forcing extra air into the combustion chamber. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. 2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. 3. Check for Damage in EMS ECU connector / VGT Actuator and VGT position sensor. 4. Check for any back out of pins at EMS ECU connector / VGT Actuator and VGT position sensor. 5. Check for any damage of pins at EMS ECU connector / VGT Actuator and VGT position sensor. Trouble Shooting:
