The engine can be started only with vehicle’s original immobilizer ignition key, which has an electronic identification programmed code. Immobilizer unit (ICU) is an add-on part on the ignition switch, fitted on the steering column. The engine can be started only with the vehicle’s original immobilizer ignition key. The electronic key communicates the identification code to ICU when the key is turned to the "Ignition ON" position. Preliminary Checks: Check immobilizer & mounting on ignition lock. Trouble Shooting:- Step Checks IF YES IF NO 1. Any physical damage of immobilizer Replace the immo with new good one Go to next step 3 2 Immobilizer mounting is correct/it should be tightly screwed up on igniting lock Correct mounting 3 Replace the immobilizer & pair with ECU DTC’s confirmation:- After rectification, ensure the following points by referring engine parameters using TML diagnostic tool before handing over to customer. Check the status of immobilizer in EMS ECU. Start the EMS ECU diagnostic tool Go to Engine parameter Select the electronic key The Status of immobilizer should be as follows: Immo code programmed in EMS Engine starting enable Valid keys detected & Authentication successful CAN communication Ok
