CONTROLLED COPY FOR RESTRICTED CIRCULATION 6. Procedure for Learning of new E-key 6.1. Add one E key (Manual key learning) with one Valid E key available, through diagnostic tester Precautions: 1. Indicated operational steps along with timings to be followed else Immobilizer terminates Learning operation 2. Maximum 6 keys (including one known key) can be learned by the immobilizer. Detail of operation: 1) Connect & Start Diagnostic Tester to the diagsnostics connector. 2) Insert Original E-key in the SCL (Steering Column Lock) 3) Turn original E-key to IGN-ON position, & ensure that Immo Status lamp (in Instrument cluster) is switched off. 4) Diagnostics tester: Start -à Additional E-Key Learning Mode 5) The Status lamp turns ON after ICU receives “add key command” from the diagnostic tester. ICU checks the validity of the E key available in the SCL (whether it is a part of key’s learned in ICU). 6) If above operation is OK, the Immo Status lamp will start blinking (@2 Hz ). All other E-keys except one key, available in the SCL, are removed from ICU’s memory, so other E-keys become redundant. 7) Remove the Key from SCL and insert new E key and turn the IGN ON within 50 seconds. 8) When the ICU is learning the key, the Status lamp turns ON. Once learning of that key is successful, the Status lamp starts blinking indicating that ICU is ready to learn another E key. 9) To learn more keys, go to step 6. 10) To stop the learning process, do any one of the following a. Leave the learned key in the SCL for more than 50 seconds – after which “Immo Status lamp” will be continuously ON, indicating learning operation is complete. b. Remove the key from the Ignition lock and wait for more than 50 seconds - After 50 seconds, the “Immo Status lamp” will be continuously ON, indicating learning operation is complete. c. After total 6 keys (including one known key) are learnt. Now switch OFF & ON the ignition, for normal operation. 11) Check operation of all the learned E-keys, as indicated below.
