SRS / Airbag ECU – DTC Troubleshooting Guide Vers ion: 14.0 Da te: 14-February-2017 Prepared by:Airbag COC Review & Approved by:Sanjeev VM Page: 385 of 549 B100C-86:- Driver Side Peripheral sensor signal invalid Overview:- ISO Code B100C86 Customer Symptom SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Effects (On Vehicle) Driver Side Crash detection performance is degraded & Driver Side angular crash detection is not guaranteed. Lamp Status (If Any) SRS Warning Lamp continuously ON in Instrument Cluster. Fault Detection Condition This fault gets logged if an invalid signal is obtained from Driver Side peripheral Sensor. Normal Operating Condition Proper signal should be obtained from Driver Side peripheral Sensor. Probable Trouble Area Related wiring Harness, connector or terminals Driver Side peripheral Sensor. Airbag Wiring Harness Airbag ECU Healing Condition Airbag ECU & Wiring Harness should be checked for any shorts, bents or damage & it needs to be rectified. Component Details:- Driver Side peripheral Sensor: - These sensors are mounted on right side “B” pillar at the bottom end. Airbag ECU: - It is fitted in the floor of central console in the car. The Airbag Electronic Control Unit (ECU) c ontrols the deployment system to allow an appropriate igniting of the Airbags and belt pre-tensioners to restrain the Driver and passengers. Preliminary Checks:- 1. Check Battery Voltage (12 V & above) 2. Check for any faults in Airbag Warning Lamp indication in Instrument Cluster. 3. Ensure the proper locking of Airbag ECU wiring harness connectors in the vehicle by the locking sound. 4. Check whether the Driver side peripheral sensor is connected properly to the wiring harness. Ensure the proper locking of the Driver side peripheral sensor to the wiring harness connector. Trouble Shooting:-
