P0638-22: Throttle Actuator Control Range/Performance (Bank 1): Throttle valve actuator permanent control deviation (signal amplitude > maximum) Overview: DTC Description (User Friendly) Throttle Actuator Control Range/Performance (Bank 1): Throttle valve actuator permanent control deviation (signal amplitude > maximum) ECU Pin Number A016, A098, A097,A008, A009 Customer Symptom MIL ON, CEL OFF Fault Effects (On Vehicle) - Lamp Status (If Any) MIL ON. MIL Turns Off as and when fault condition is not present / healed. Fault Detection Condition (Root cause) The limit for the maximum permissible positive control deviation threshold91 (12 volt) is exceeded and The control deviation is present for longer than the applicable time threshold93 (4000ms). Normal Operating Condition Maximum permissible positive control deviation is within limit. Probable Trouble Area Wiring harness connections between TVA actuator and EMS ECU. Healing Condition Rectify the error Clear through diagnostic tool. Ignition OFF & ON Component Details: Throttle valve is connected to accelerator pedal. Throttle position sensor measures current position of throttle valve, based on this ems generates signal to the TVA Actuator. Signal generation for the actuator is based on TVA position sensor signal value. Preliminary Checks: 1. Check whether the customer voice / view about the issue is matching with the fault effects mentioned in above Table. If yes, go ahead with next steps. If not, check for other DTC’s presence. 2. Check whether other customers report similar complaints earlier. If yes, perform the preliminary checks with respect to earlier issue closure. 3. Check for Damage in EMS ECU connector / TVA Actuator and TVA position sensor. 4. Check for any back out of pins at EMS ECU connector / TVA Actuator and TVA position sensor. 5. Check for any damage of pins at EMS ECU connector / TVA Actuator and TVA position sensor. Trouble Shooting:
